The house is heated by a combination of convection and storage heaters. There are additional electric heaters for use if required, as well as the coal fire in the living room.
Hot water is provided by an immersion heater, but the coal fire is an alternative way of heating the water.
Electricity is paid for with a token meter.
Average weekly electricity price is around £15.
